February 13, 2006 marked the beginning of the 100th year of the Paramacharya accepting Sanyasa Dharma and also becoming the head of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
Sri. Kanchi Mahaswami Peetarohana Shatabdi Mahotsav Trust was formed to celebrate this milestone in the spiritual history of India. The Shatabdi Mahotsav Trust derives its courage from the immense encouragement and blessings from Their Holinesses Sri. Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathy Swamigal, the 69 th and the 70th Acharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
On February 11, 2007 The Shatabdi Mahotsav Trust held a valedictory function at Chennai. It was a grand celebration where His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi performed the Kanakabhishekam for the Paramacharya's Padukas with an Ashtotharam and Thrisathi. The day was rendered even more auspicious as it was Anusham, the birthstar of the Mahaswami.
